The chipper weighs approximately 800 pounds. It will probably work on less than 20 hp if you're not chipping big stuff and you give the heavy flywheel time to come back up speed.

The heart of machine is a heavy 24 inch, 225 pound flywheel with two blades that are reversible for less downtime.

I have used this chipper on only two or three occasions around the house when we had some light chipping jobs. At 540 pto PMS it will drive the flywheel 1200 rpm for fast chipping. The condition of chipper is like new except for a few flecks paint that have either worn or flaked off.
